We have been reflecting over 2021 and 2022 and looking back at all the feedback we have had from our patients online and through various surveys that were led by the Patient Participation Group and NHS England.
Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who participated in any of the afore mention as feedback is always greatly appreciated. Overall you were all very positive so thank you.
We would like to reflect on some of the more negative responses we received:
- Excessive waiting times listening to recorded message on the phones/ difficult to get through/phones disconnecting –
The information on the recorded message was an NHS obligation to keep all our patients safe therefore necessary.
We have invested in a new phone system this year as we were having many issues with the phone lines not working and cutting off, the new system is run through the internet and should eliminate some of these issues. We hope the new phone system helps you identify who you need to speak to and puts you through to the correct person first time making your experience easier.
- Our waiting room is now open, and chairs are back in place, some with arms and some without, hopefully making your visit more comfortable.
- Understandably nobody likes to wait for an appointment however this is sometimes necessary for non-urgent issues however every day we have an on-call GP who is available for Urgent on the day medical needs, if you need a doctor there is always one available.
- We are working on our out of hours appointments and have added some nursing slots to our out of hours telephone service. We also have GP telephone appointments on a Thursday evening and a weekend in addition to increased e-consult availability for those of you who like to send in requests online.
Overall, the feedback we received was very positive with both surveys however changes have been made following this survey so please do fill in any future Questionnaires sent your way as change only happens with your help.
Thank you have best wishes for 2023.
