Telephone Calls

We operate a triage system for all urgent/same day appointment requests. If you require a same-day appointment you will be called back by a doctor or a nurse practitioners, who will give you advice, arrange any tests that are required and if necessary book you an appointment. Please let the receptionist know if you will have difficulty answering the phone or need to be called at specific times. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements. We may ask you for a reason for your appointment, this is so we can guide you to the most appropriate clinician.

If a patient wishes to speak to a particular doctor for a non urgent matter, a pre-bookable telephone appointment can be made. It is not always possible to speak to a particular doctor on the day the patient rings. Some of our clinicians are working remotely therefore calls may be from a withheld number.

Face to Face Appointments with a GP

Pre-bookable face to face appointments are available at the surgery with any GP or a GP of your choice, some of which have special interests. We may ask you for a reason for your appointment, this is so we can guide you to the most appropriate clinician.

Online Appointments

Currently you can book online for blood tests and smears at the practice. You do this via the online services section on the website, please contact reception if you don't have an account for this.

Extended Access

Improving Access to General Practice with Evening, Weekend and Bank Holiday Appointments

WACA are working collaboratively with all GP practices across Airedale, Wharfedale & Craven to offer patients increased access to routine appointments with GP’s, Nurses and other healthcare professionals from locality based hubs in Keighley, Silsden, Skipton, Ilkley and Settle.

This service provides all Airedale, Wharfedale & Craven registered patients access to:

Pre-bookable routine appointments from 6:30pm – 8:00pm Monday to Friday

Weekend appointments from 08:00am – 11:00am Saturday to Sunday

Bank Holidays appointments from 09:00am – 11:00am

These appointments can be booked in advance or on the same day Monday to Friday for a routine medical matter, subject to availability and the reason for your appointment.

How to book

To book these appointments, please contact your registered practice by phone or in person asking to make an appointment during these times at your local hub. By booking an appointment, patients consent for the clinician based at the Local Hubs to access their full medical record so that they can offer a safe and knowledgeable service.

Home visits

The doctor will visit patients at home if there is a medical reason preventing attendance at the surgery. As you can appreciate, these take extra time so please try your best to come into the surgery. Please telephone visit requests before 10am giving details to the receptionist.

Blood tests and test results

We have dedicated phlebotomists here at the surgery working throughout the week. Please when booking a blood test ensure that the test has either been requested by a consultant or a GP at the surgery.

Please ring the surgery for results 5 working days later after 2pm Monday - Friday or make an appointment with the doctor (a telephone appointment will suffice). You will only be contact by the surgery if any follow up action is needed.
